2022 Great Buzz Gathering
January 25, 2022 @ 4:00PM — 6:00PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
For the third year in a row, Asheville GreenWorks, leader of Asheville's Bee City USA initiative, is hosting a virtual gathering of the area's pollinator conservationists, advocates, and enthusiasts! Via Zoom, presenters will be invited to share pollinator projects they've engaged in this year, plans for 2022, and opportunities for collaboration. Together, we can make the greatest impact! Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you have exciting projects to share or would just like to listen and learn.
In order to attend you must register—there are two registration options:
- Attendee: you would like to attend simply to listen and learn
- Presenter: you would like to share a max. 5 minute presentation on the pollinator work that you and/or your organization have accomplished in 2021 and/or have planned for 2022 (more info below)
A Zoom link will be emailed to those who have registered prior to the event.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think may be interested!
What presenting entails:
Presenters will be allotted a maximum of 5 minutes to share, and are encouraged to create a visual accompaniment to go with their presentation (can be a brief slideshow or even a single graphic). Because this is a virtual event, you will need a good internet connection and a computer with decent video and audio capabilities. No questions during the event. Presenters’ contact information will be available for questions.
We would love to hear about pollinator work ranging from habitat creation efforts, community outreach and education, selling and/or promoting native plants, political advocacy, and more! Participants are invited to share their personal endeavors or speak on behalf of their organization. Descriptions of these efforts and accomplishments will be submitted as part of our annual report to Bee City USA, and will help us more fully capture all of the amazing work being done in our community!
Of tantamount importance is our goal to create a 2022 calendar of pollinator-related events and projects, and to highlight opportunities for collaboration. We can most effectively support pollinator conservation by pooling resources and working collectively. If you want to present, please try to think of some collaboration opportunities to share with the group!
If you do register as a presenter, you will receive additional information via email. We hope to see you there! Please feel free to reach out to GreenWorks' Environmental Educator, email@example.com, with any questions.
