Clean up the French Broad River!

There are currently no tickets available for this event, but you can still make a donation.

  • Big Sweep is a cooperative effort to close out river season with as many cleanups in one day as possible! Not only will groups be on 25+ miles of river, they will also be on land and in creeks doing cleanups. As just one of many organizations involved in this year's 32nd Annual WNC Big Sweep, Asheville GreenWorks will be taking on 2 in-town river cleanup sections. Sign up to help us with the paddle cleanups, or organize a group for a roadside or creek cleanup!

Section 1: Amboy River Park to Zen Tubing (10am)
Section 2: Zen Tubing to Woodfin Riverside Park (11am)
*Please note: we have a limited number of GreenWorks' boats. If you would like to bring your own, you will be asked to help with self-shuttling.

Schedule of the day (NOTE DIFFERENT START TIMES:
10am: Section 1 meets at Zen Tubing for safety training and loading into shuttles
11am: Section 2 meets at Zen Tubing for safety training
3-6pm: Meet back at Zen Tubing for an after-party (any roadside or creek cleanup teams join in) with food and beverages

What to Wear:
Prepare to get wet and dirty! Swimsuits, shorts, tank tops, tshirts. Shoes are important: please wear old sneakers or appropriate water shoes. NO flip flops, crocs, or heavy boots. Bring hat, sunscreen, and water for on the river. All safety gear and cleanup supplies will be provided.

Please note: This sign up is for Asheville GreenWorks in-town section cleanups. RiverLink, MountainTrue, Mills River Partnership, and the City of Hendersonville will also be leading crews on the same date, on different sections. Please contact each organization with questions about signing up for their teams.
